Sip, Sip, Hooray!

Cocktails have been a popular for centuries, and they continue to be a staple in homes, bars and restaurants around the world. A cocktail is typically made with two or more ingredients, including a base spirit, a sweetener, and a modifier, such as citrus or bitters. The possibilities for creating new and unique cocktails are endless, as bartender I like to experiment with different flavor combinations and techniques.

One of the most popular cocktails is the classic martini, which is made with gin or vodka and vermouth. The drink is typically served chilled and garnished with a twist of lemon or olives. Another popular cocktail is the margarita, which is made with tequila, lime juice, and triple sec. This drink is often served on the rocks or blended with ice and garnished with a salt rim. One of the great things about cocktails is that they can be tailored to suit individual tastes. For example, a Bloody Mary can be made spicy (which is my favorite) or mild, depending on the amount of hot sauce used. A Mojito can be made with a variety of fruits and herbs, such as strawberries, blueberries, or mint.

I love the fact that people are getting creative with their cocktails at home, with many recipes available online and in cocktail books, like the ones in our good meals and melodies series (shameless plug). Creating a signature cocktail for a special occasion can be a fun and creative way to impress guests.

Cheers!
